In January of 1989, a young entrepreneur established Batangas Solid Sandblasting and Construction (BSSC) Corporation primarily to cater the needs of the booming construction firms along Batangas Bay on sandblasting and painting works.
On the same month, BSSC was commissioned by the Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Company of Manila (AG&P) for the power brushing and painting of Robinsons steel structure under contract by AG&P. Months later, AG&P again commissioned BSSC to sandblast and paint the Cominco Red Dog module platforms.
The performance of BSSC on the two succeeding projects given by AG&P has earned him a reputable record and made him well known in the field of protective coating works in the area of Batangas Bay.
In the company’s desire to expand its field of expertise, it has developed its resources and venture into steel fabrication and installation works.
By the same year, BSSC was able to get an accreditation from Keppel Philippines Shipyard Inc. (KPSI), by 1991 from the Philippine National Oil Company Dockyard and Engineering Corp. )PDEC) wherein it has secured various jobs on steel fabrication and installation, sandblasting and painting works for domestic and international marine vessels.
During this period, the company started to acquire heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, cargo trucks and generator sets to primarily support its growing and expanding business.
By May of 1993, the company is already venturing on international projects like the fabrication of pipe spool and lines for Interbeton, Asia Brown and Boveri (ABB) and ONGC. Likewise BSSC became an accredited contractor of Caltex Philippines and Bobcock Hitachi Philippines Inc. (BHP).
